The building of an icon
This bike was ordered with very little guidelines. There was only 3 things. Its got to be black, all black. It’s got to have space for two. And finally it has to sound awesome. The rest was left to us, as long as it was on budget. Yeah … About the budget …
As much as this bike has a clean vintage brat styling, it is packed with very contemporary high end features.
Aesthetically, the Blackbird has a very straight back thanks to a custom rear suspension giving it this bold and distinct look. The bike is fully powder coated flat black and has very little detail. The paint scheme was designed and made by Hubert Therrien, a local muralist and airbrush artist. We wanted something subtle and low key to not interfere with the blackness and authority the bike commands. So very clean and discrete lines were made to outline the hand pounded knee dents. The lettering was made by hand with no stencil giving the uneven edges that has this cartoony hue. And being our very first CB750 completely build from scratch the 01 was appropriate.
